Congratulations on all of your revelations. I’ve been researching my family history for about 15 years and this past year I’ve found so many things, including my fourth cousin and a collection of papers that belonged to my ggg grandfather. He was a prolific letter-writer and his musings are providing a lot of information. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to find my gg grandmother’s original owners through some information in his letters.
As Andrea pointed out, the joy is in the journey!

It took me 15 years to find my g-g-g grandmother’s manumission. It’s been my most exciting genealogy find thus far. Never stop searching, that’s where all the fun is! “Genealogy research” is a journey not a destination. Plus what else do we have to do? LOL
